Booster Meeting Minutes

Coaches’ Report:
-
Summer league in progress every Thursday. Please come and play whenever
able!
-
Millersburg 6v6 on Saturday 8/11/12.
-
New for fall 2012, home uniforms must be completely white for all teams:
shirt, shorts, socks. No color may be on the uniform at all. School will
pay for new home uniforms and away socks. No additional soccer equipment
needs have been identified at this time.
-
All PA schools will play soccer in the fall of 2012, competition will
increase as a result.
-
Coaches need someone to video tape all games to be used for training
purposes.
-
Need some volunteers to keep stats at games.
-

Discussion was initiated by the coaches regarding the importance of the
boosters. There is a need for additional volunteers to be involved and it was
suggested that the players will be involved in booster activities.

Treasurer’s Report

Account Balances:

Checking balance – $175 ( $100 for games of chance license)
Funds needed for the following:

New players’ warm-ups and bags
·
2012 Warm-up t-shirts (designed by players)
·
Food for far away games (only one or two)
·
Senior night (breast cancer awareness) – flowers & corsages, materials for
posters & decorating the stadium.

Concession stand start-up monies for cash box.
·
End of season banquet – senior gifts, coaches gifts, $100 deposit, food,
Beverages, etc.
·
Annual scholarship
Attention All Parents: FYI
-
All parents are expected to bring an item to sell when it is your evening to
work in the concession stand. You can bring items whenever you want even when
you aren’t working. The more we have to sell the more money we have to get
things for our girls. Items that have sold well over the years; Soups, Walking
Tacos, Perogies, Barbque, Meatballs, things people can hold and eat. Boosters
always provide hotdogs/buns and pizza.

If you cannot work the evening you are scheduled please arrange to switch with
someone or find someone to cover for you.
-
All families will be asked to contribute 1 case of 16/20 oz. of water, 1 case
(24) cans of soda, 1 case of 20oz. Gatorade bottles. If you prefer to donate
money instead we are asking for $20.00. Bring your donation to the
team/player meeting on Aug. 12th!!
-
No orders will be placed for personal purchases (such as spirit wear) unless
paid for up front.
Fund Raiser Ideas:
-
Sheetz Gas Raffle – tickets purchased, sell for $2.00 a piece, distribution
starting week of 7/9/2012. 10 prizes. Drawing at Team/Player meeting Aug. 12,
2012

Gertrude Hawk Candy Bar sale. Profit - 40cents per bar. Gary Ernest gathering
information.

T-shirt sale. Unisex design to be sold at school by girls. Can be sold in
community also.
Community Service Ideas:
-
Car Wash – Location secured, soap brushed etc. secured. Need to pick a Date!
Girls need to participate. Proceeds will be divided between 2 local charities
to be determined at next booster meeting.

Sell pink T-shirts and other breast cancer awareness items before, during and
after the Senior Recognition game, with proceeds going to the American Cancer
Society.

Team can donate a meal to Ronald McDonald house and House of Care!
-
Visit/provide gifts for residents of an area nursing home that don’t get any
visitors.

Concession Stand
Coordinator - still needed

Duties :

Staffing – create a work list that incorporates all parents. Varsity parents
covers JV games, JV parents cover varsity games.

Inventory – know what we have and make a list of needs to be given to
Purchasing Team.

Remind parents of dates they are working stand.
Purchasing Supplies

Duties:

Purchase all supplies needed for Concession stand.

Get list of needed supplies from Concession stand team.

Warm-up/T-shirt Order Committee

Duties:

Get new players sizes (have current players allow new girls to try on theirs
for accuracy)

Work with team to create design for warm-up T-shirts.

Spiritwear/Bag Order Committee

Duties:

Order Athletic Bags for new players and for existing players if they need new
ones. (at players expense)

Get ideas for design of family/team spirit wear.

Distribute order forms, collect orders and money, money to treasurer. (no one
can place an order unless money is paid up front)

Away Game/ Summer Practice Committee
Coordinator – still needed
Duties:

Arrange for parents to donate drinks and light snacks for 2 a days in Aug.
Sign up at July 22nd meeting!

Arrange for Subs/Sandwiches & drinks to be purchased and delivered to bus for
far away games. (maybe 2 per regular season)
Senior Night/ Breast Cancer Awareness Committee

Duties:

Design/order Pink T-shirts to be worn by team/parents at game. Order extra’s
to sell.

Arrange for info. and products on Breast Cancer awareness for game.

Order/pick up flowers for senior players and their Moms.

Purchase and distribute supplies to Junior players for posters and to decorate
stadium. This will include balloons usually purchased with flowers.

Design and print Program to be handed out at game. Include picture and
personal information on each senior player.
End of Year Banquet Committee

Plan food, beverages, dessert etc. with committee for banquet.

Purchase gifts for seniors/coaches or assure someone is. (I have done it the
last 2 years, will do this year also)
